Storage Requirements

Application Instructions Summary

Preparation Phase

Foundation Surface: Must be free from oil, grease, and loosely adherent material. Defective surfaces or laitance must be cut back to sound base. Bolt holes and fixing pockets must be blown clean.

Pre-soaking: Foundation should be flooded with fresh water several hours before grouting; free water must be removed immediately before application, with special attention to bolt holes and fixing pockets.

Formwork: Must be constructed leakproof with well-sealed joints, including outlets for pre-soaking water.

Mixing

Mechanical mixing is recommended using either a slow-speed mixer with high-shear paddle (for quantities up to 50kg) or a high-shear vane mixer (for larger quantities). Maximum water addition is 2.125 litres per 25kg bag. Mix continuously for 6-7 minutes to achieve smooth, consistent texture.

Placing

  • Can be placed in thicknesses up to 250mm in a single pour
  • Should be poured from one side to eliminate air entrapment
  • Continuous grout flow must be maintained
  • For large volumes, pumping is recommended with appropriate slurry lubrication of equipment

Curing

Exposed areas should be thoroughly cured using Concure curing membrane or wet hessian and polyethylene sheeting.
