Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

For maximum adhesion, the substrate must be clean and free from loose material. Sandblasting is recommended for optimum adhesion to the bonding surface.

Mixing

The product requires a forced-action mixer for proper preparation:

  • Pour all hardener (Part B, amber liquid) into the base resin (Part A, black)
  • Mix thoroughly until an even grey color is achieved
  • Recommended mixer: Slow speed (400/500 rpm) using appropriate equipment such as a Ransom 140 x 600 M14 helical mixing paddle fitted to a heavy-duty 1600W mixer

Placing

  • Place immediately after mixing to take full advantage of the limited pot life
  • Can be poured to displace water directly in submerged applications
  • Can be placed in thicknesses from 12 mm up to 30 mm in a single pour when used as underplate grout
  • Where grouting gap exceeds maximum thickness, grout can be filled/bulked out with Conbextra Grout Aggregate to minimize exotherm heat buildup
  • Filling ratio should not exceed 2:1 grout to aggregate

Cleaning

All tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with Fosroc Solvent 10 before the epoxy hardens. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

Temperature Performance and Service Conditions

  • During application: Minimum application temperature is 5°C; pot life reduces when temperatures exceed 20°C
