Conbextra Grout Aggregate - 20kg
Chemically inert fillers (<5mm) for use with Conbextra EP65 and Conbextra Cementitious Grouts. Increases yield and allows deeper pours to be achieved. The addition of aggregate reduces exothermic heat development enabling increased pour sizes while minimizing reduction in flow and strength of grouts.

Conbextra Grout Aggregate - 20kg Technical Details and Specifications
Product Overview
Conbextra Grout Aggregate is a graded and rounded dry aggregate specifically formulated to enhance various cementitious and epoxy grout formulations within the Conbextra product line. Supplied in 20kg bags with material code FC502021-20KG, this product serves as a versatile additive for construction grouting applications.
Key Specifications
Physical Properties
- Particle Size: 5 to 6 millimeters
- Material Composition: Well-graded, silt-free dry aggregate
- Maximum Aggregate Size: 5mm
- Supply Format: 20kg moisture-resistant plastic bags
- Classification: Not hazardous for RCS in accordance with the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals; contains <0.1% RCS
Primary Functions and Advantages
Conbextra Grout Aggregate provides multiple performance benefits:
- Increases yield - Extends material volume and coverage area
- Increases potential pour sizes - Enables grouting of larger sections and gaps
- Economical - Reduces overall material costs
- Minimizes reduction in flow and strength - Maintains grout performance standards
- Reduces exothermic heat development - Enables increased pour sizes by minimizing heat buildup during curing
Compatibility with Grout Systems
The aggregate is compatible with multiple Conbextra products at recommended dosages:
Cementitious Grouts
- Conbextra GP: Maximum ratio of 2:1 grout to aggregate by weight
- Conbextra HS: Maximum ratio of 2:1 grout to aggregate by weight
- Conbextra HES: Maximum ratio of 2:1 grout to aggregate by weight
- Conbextra UW: Maximum 10kg of aggregate per 20kg bag of Conbextra UW
Epoxy-Based Grouts
- Conbextra EP120 Plus: Up to 10kg per 14-litre kit (reduces costs while maintaining performance)
- Conbextra EP65 Plus: Up to 10kg per 14-litre kit (bulks out grout while reducing exothermic heat)
- Conbextra EP935: Maximum ratio of 2:1 grout to aggregate by weight
Mixing Instructions
For Cement-Based Grouts
- Measure selected water content accurately into the mixer
- Slowly add grout contents and mix continuously for 3 minutes, ensuring smooth, even consistency
- Slowly add Conbextra Grout Aggregate to mixed grout
- Mix for a further 2 minutes
- Important: Do not exceed the top end water content stated on the Technical Data Sheet
For Epoxy-Based Grouts
- Mix hardener slowly into the base using a slow-speed heavy-duty mixer
- Mix at 350 to 400 RPM until uniform mix is obtained
- Slowly add Conbextra Grout Aggregate to mixed grout
- Mix for a further 2 minutes
- Caution: Allow mixed product to settle and expel air bubbles before placing, as air may be entrained when adding aggregate to epoxy-based grouts
Yield Information
Cement-Based Grouts
- Addition Rate: Up to 10kg per 20kg of Conbextra Grout
- Typical Yield Increase: Approximately 4 litres per 10kg of aggregate added
Epoxy-Based Grouts
- Addition Rate: Up to 10kg per 14-litre kit of Conbextra EP65 Plus (as example)
- Typical Yield Increase: Approximately 4 litres per 10kg of aggregate added
Limitations
The addition of aggregate to grout will reduce the flow characteristics of the product. If high flow performance is required, it is not recommended that aggregate be added.
Important Safety and Usage Information
A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is available from the Fosroc website and should be read carefully prior to use, as application or performance data may change from time to time. In emergencies, contact any Poisons Information Centre (phone 13 11 26 within Australia) or a doctor for advice.
