Product Overview

Nitoflor® FC150 HP/SL is a heavy-duty, two-component epoxy resin floor coating system manufactured by Fosroc, designed for demanding industrial and commercial flooring applications. Application Methods

Nitoflor FC150 HP/SL offers versatile application flexibility through two distinct methods:

Roll Coat Application

When applied as a roll coat, the product is applied in two coats to achieve an approximate total dry film thickness of 400-500 microns (200-250 microns per coat). For vertical surfaces, the application rate is reduced to prevent sagging and curtaining, typically achieving 150-200 microns per coat.

Self-Levelling Screed Application

As a self-levelling screed, Nitoflor FC150 HP/SL is applied at a nominal thickness of 2 to 4 millimeters, providing a smooth, seamless floor finish. This application method creates a dense, impervious, and hygienic floor surface that is easily cleaned.

Slip Resistance Properties

The product provides excellent slip resistance when combined with anti-slip aggregates. According to AS/NZS 4586:2013 standards:

• Without additional grit: P0 wet pendulum test rating, D1 dry floor friction test
• Saturated with Nitoflor Anti-Slip Grains 01 or 02: P5 wet pendulum test rating (highest slip resistance classification)

• Pot Life: 40 minutes at 23°C (8 litre kit)
• Tack Free Time: 8 hours at 23°C
• Recoat Time: 8-48 hours at 23°C; 16-96 hours at 10°C
• Foot Traffic: 12 hours at 23°C (roll coat); 24 hours (self-leveller)
• Vehicle Traffic: 48 hours at 23°C
• Full Cure: 4 days at 23°C

Coverage Rates

Roll Coat Application:

• Horizontal Surfaces: 4-5 m²/litre per coat
• Vertical Surfaces: 5-6 m²/litre per coat
• Over Anti-Slip Grains: 2-3 m²/litre (second coat)

Self-Levelling Application:

• 8 litre pack: Covers 4m² at 2mm thickness or 2m² at 4mm thickness

Surface Preparation Requirements

Proper substrate preparation is essential for optimal performance:

• Substrate preparation: Light grit blasting or grinding to achieve CSP profile of 2-3 (per ICRI guidelines)
• Moisture content: Must be less than 5% (measured using Tramex CMEX11 moisture meter)
• Substrate condition: Sound, clean, dry substrates free from loose materials, old coatings, curing compounds, release agents, laitance, oil, and grease
• Relative humidity: Not greater than 75% at time of installation
• Application temperature: Above 10°C for both substrate and ambient conditions
• Priming: Often requires Nitomortar 903 as primer, particularly on porous concrete

Storage and Handling

• Storage temperature: 10°C to 30°C (roll coat); 5°C to 30°C (self-leveller)
• Storage condition: Dry storage in original, unopened packs
• Shelf life: May be reduced if stored at high temperatures

• Rising damp: Should not be applied to surfaces with rising damp or moisture content exceeding 5%
• Substrate limitations: Not recommended for asphalt, weak or friable concrete, unmodified sand cement screeds, or substantially moving substrates
• Color darkening: Some colors may darken or develop brown tinge when exposed to sunlight or certain chemicals
• Thermal shock: Should not be applied in areas where significant thermal shock is likely
• Solvent incompatibility: Solvents (including acetone and methylated spirits) must not be added, as they affect curing and intercoat adhesion
