Product Overview

Concure X90 is a water-based hydrocarbon resin curing compound specifically designed for curing freshly laid concrete. It is manufactured by Fosroc and distributed by Parchem Construction Supplies Pty Ltd. The product combines resins and surfactants emulsified in water to create an impervious film that prevents excessive water evaporation and promotes efficient cement hydration.

Concure X90 is formulated as a blend of resins and surfactants that are emulsified in water. This water-based formulation provides several environmental and practical advantages:

Coverage and Application Rate

Concure X90 is applied at a coverage rate of 5 square meters per litre in a single coat application, as required by AS3799 standards.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

• Apply Concure X90 to concrete as soon as bleed water has dissipated and the concrete has hardened sufficiently to avoid being marked by the application process
• Apply undiluted at a rate of 5m² per litre
• Best applied by spray application, although it may also be applied by brush, roller, or broom

Cleaning

Concure X90 is easily removed from tools and equipment with water due to its water-based formulation.

Suitability and Applications

Concure X90 is suitable for curing all freshly laid concrete whether smooth or textured. However, it is most suited to external horizontal concrete surfaces such as:

• Roads and large areas where UV exposure enables the product to break down
• Horizontal concrete slabs receiving adequate UV light
• Any freshly laid concrete requiring effective water retention during curing

UV Breakdown and Oxidation

A distinctive feature of Concure X90 is its behavior under UV exposure:

• Type 1 and Type 1-D variants begin breaking down after 14 days of UV exposure, indicated by the surface turning a charcoal colour
• Total oxidization period: 45 - 55 days from application (subject to degree of UV exposure and specified application rates)
• This property reduces the need for surface cleaning in preparation for subsequent finishes
• High pressure water assists in removing any remaining product residue

Important Limitation on White Variant

The white pigment in Concure X90 White (Type 2) affects the oxidization rate:

• May take a longer period to break down under UV exposure
• May require mechanical removal
• The pigment may discolor the concrete

Internal or Shaded Areas

Concure X90 will only break down if exposed to sufficient UV light. For internal areas or surfaces not receiving sufficient UV exposure:

• Mechanical abrasion may be required to remove the product from the surface
• This limitation restricts its use to external horizontal applications

Storage Requirements

• Store in original, unopened packs
• Maintain cool, dry conditions away from sources of heat
• High temperature storage may reduce shelf life
