Nitoprime 320PU is a single-component, fast-drying primer specifically designed for preparing concrete substrates prior to the installation of Fosroc Polyurea systems. The product is formulated as a diisocyanato diphenylmethane (MDI) prepolymer and has been tinted red to enable easy control of application thickness during the priming process.

Chemical Composition

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

All concrete surfaces must be prepared in accordance with the relevant Fosroc Polyurea system data sheets (WHE110 or WPE110).

Application Rate and Method

• Suggested application rate: 150 grams per square meter (m²)
• Coverage rate: Approximately 6.5 m² per kilogram, depending on concrete porosity
• Application: Direct application to prepared substrate surfaces

Adhesion Enhancement

Broadcast of fire-dried sand is recommended into the wet primer to optimize adhesion properties between the primer and the subsequent polyurea system.

Drying and Cure

The primer must be allowed to become tack-free prior to application of Fosroc Polyurea WHE110 or WPE110. With a cure time of 30 minutes @ 23°C, Nitoprime 320PU provides a faster drying alternative compared to heavier priming systems, reducing overall application time on site.

Nitoprime 320PU is specifically formulated for use with:

• Fosroc Polyurea WPE110

Additionally, Nitoprime 320PU can be used as an alternative primer for Fosroc Nitoproof 750 waterproofing membrane.

Storage Requirements

Shelf Life

Nitoprime 320PU has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture when stored in the original, unopened packaging under proper conditions.

Storage Conditions

• Temperature range: 20-30°C (optimal)
• Storage location: Indoors in a well-ventilated area
• Container integrity: Keep containers properly closed
• Storage at elevated temperatures: Not recommended above 50°C, as this can accelerate the formation of insoluble solids and increase viscosity changes

Special Storage Precautions

• Full drums should be used preferably to avoid part-filled containers being contaminated with moist air or water
• If contact with moist air or water occurs, drums should not be resealed as reaction with water can lead to gas evolution and pressure build-up
• Partially used containers should be purged with dry nitrogen to prolong storage stability
• Part-used containers can be filled into smaller containers to maximum volume and purged with dry nitrogen for maximum storage stability

Cleaning and Maintenance

All tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with Fosroc Solvent 10. Spillages should be absorbed with sand or sawdust and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
