Product Intelligence

Nitoproof 750: Polyurethane Waterproofing Membrane

Overview

Nitoproof 750 is a high-performance, single-component polyurethane liquid waterproofing membrane manufactured by Fosroc. It cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to create a tough, elastomeric, and permanently flexible waterproof barrier suitable for a wide range of internal and external applications.

Product Classification

Nitoproof 750 is classified as a Class III membrane with exceptional elasticity and flexibility. The product is characterized by:

  • High elongation (greater than 300%)
  • Excellent bond to prepared substrates
  • Low water permeability
  • Pitch-free formulation
  • Non-staining properties

Key Applications

Nitoproof 750 is ideal for waterproofing in the following environments:

  • Foundations and basements
  • Tunnels and underground structures
  • Ground floors and suspended floors
  • Roof terraces and balconies
  • Patios and bridges
  • Inspection pits
  • Sewage works
  • Inverted roofs

Environmental Specifications

Parameter Range
Application Temperature 5°C – 35°C
Service Temperature (continuous ambient) −20°C to +80°C
Re-coating Interval Maximum 2 days after application

Application Method

Wet Film Thickness (WFT)

Nitoproof 750 must be applied by roller, trowel, or squeegee to achieve a wet film thickness of not less than 1.5 mm.

For applications requiring compliance to AS4564.1, Nitoproof 750 must be applied as two coats with:

  • Minimum WFT of 1.7 mm (coverage of 1.7 litres/m²)
  • Resulting minimum DFT of 1.5 mm

Coverage Rate

Application Coverage
Standard Application 1.5–1.7 litres/m² (2 coats)
Coverage per 15-litre Drum 8.8–10 m²

Chemical Resistance

Nitoproof 750 demonstrates excellent chemical resistance to:

  • Mild acids and alkalis
  • Water-borne salts
  • Bio-degradation
  • Highly resistant to detergent-based and bleach-based cleaning products

Cure Mechanism

Nitoproof 750 employs moisture-curing technology, meaning it cures through a chemical reaction with atmospheric moisture rather than through solvent evaporation. This provides:

  • Irreversible chemical cure that eliminates melting and flow at high temperatures
  • Excellent resistance to embrittlement
  • Permanently flexible, resilient barrier over a wide temperature range

Root Resistance

Nitoproof 750 has been tested for root resistance to PD CEN/TS 14416:2014 standards and demonstrates no root penetration, making it suitable for applications where root resistance is required.

Curing and Protection

  • UV Stability: Nitoproof 750 is NOT UV stable and must be cured for a minimum of 24 hours at 25°C before placing protection
  • Tiling Window: Tiling should commence within 5 days of application
  • Flood Testing: Prior to placement of protection, surfaces should be flooded to a minimum depth of 50 mm for 24 hours

Supply and Storage

Product Supply

Product Size Product Code
Nitoproof 750 15 litre FC000609-15L

Shelf Life

Nitoproof 750 has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture when kept in a dry store in original, unopened packaging. Storage should be at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.

Standards Compliance

Nitoproof 750 has been independently tested by CSIRO to the requirements of:

  • AS/NZS 4654.1:2012 – Waterproofing membranes for external above-ground use, Part 1: Materials
  • CSIRO Test Report SW8554

Copies of test reports are available from the Fosroc website.

Advantages Summary

  • Readily applied directly from can (no mixing required)
  • Excellent build properties for both horizontal and vertical surfaces
  • Outstanding barrier properties against corrosive soil conditions
  • Root resistant formulation
  • Wide substrate compatibility
  • Permanently flexible over extended temperature range
  • Non-staining formulation
